It’s a wedding that brings back the iconic ’90s vibes, as Frances Bean Cobain, the daughter of the legendary Kurt Cobain, and Riley Hawk, the son of skateboarding icon Tony Hawk, have officially become husband and wife.

The 31-year-old Frances Bean Cobain and the 30-year-old Riley Hawk exchanged their vows on October 7 in a beautiful ceremony held in Los Angeles. This delightful news comes to us courtesy of documents obtained by TMZ.

What adds an extra layer of uniqueness to this already special union is that the wedding was officiated by none other than Michael Stipe, who is not just a close friend but also Cobain’s godfather. Michael Stipe, known for fronting the legendary band R.E.M., must have added a profound sense of nostalgia to the ceremony.

Frances Bean Cobain was previously married to the Eeries musician, Isaiah Silva. The couple had been together for five years before they decided to take the plunge in 2014. However, their marital bliss was short-lived as they filed for divorce less than two years later. As part of the divorce settlement, Frances Bean Cobain had to part ways with her father’s famous Martin guitar, which held immense sentimental value.

Frances Bean Cobain, an accomplished visual artist and model, is the only child of the iconic “Smells Like Teen Spirit” singer Kurt Cobain and the former Hole frontwoman, Courtney Love.

Her father, Kurt Cobain, left an indelible mark on the music industry but tragically succumbed to suicide in Seattle in April 1994. Even as recently as 2021, fans and enthusiasts of the ’90s music scene continued to seek answers, urging the FBI to reexamine the case, as some believed it might have been a homicide. The legacy of Kurt Cobain endures through his daughter and the timeless music he created during that unforgettable era.
