Welcome back to our Ahsoka Episode 6 recap, where we delve into the thrilling developments in “Far, Far Away.” This episode picks up right where Episode 5 left off, and it’s a rollercoaster ride of revelations and adventures. Please be aware that this recap contains full spoilers for the episode.

The episode kicks off with Ahsoka and Huyang riding inside the enigmatic Purrgil in their relentless pursuit of Baylan Skoll, Morgan Elsbeth, and Shin Hati, who have taken Ahsoka’s padawan, Sabine Wren, captive.

As they traverse through the cosmos, Ahsoka reflects on the captivating stories of the Purrgil that Huyang shared with the younglings. In return, Huyang requests a story from Ahsoka. She opens up about Sabine’s choice to accompany the enemy willingly, wrestling with her sense of responsibility for not better preparing Sabine for this crucial decision. Huyang offers a unique perspective, suggesting that, to Sabine, this might have been the only viable choice at her disposal.

As Huyang begins narrating a story, the episode’s title card makes its grand entrance, bearing the words “Part VI: Far, Far Away.”

The narrative then shifts to Sabine, who finds herself confined within a prison cell on the enemy’s vessel. Baylan briefly checks in on her but eventually departs, leaving Sabine to contemplate whether Baylan has reneged on their agreement to reunite her with Ezra. Baylan confides in his fellow cohorts that he believes Sabine can still be instrumental in helping them locate Ezra.

Their voyage takes them out of hyperspace and into a distant galaxy known as Peridea, the ancient homeworld of the Dathomiri. Legends recount how the Nightsisters were the first to ride the Purrgil to the known galaxy, and this planet now serves as a graveyard for these colossal space whales.

Upon detecting a beacon from the planet’s surface, the crew investigates, taking Sabine along for the journey. As they descend through the planet’s thick clouds, they stumble upon the remains of ancient civilizations, nestled in the shadows of towering mountains. Landing, they are welcomed by a group of Nightsisters gathered around an ancient ruin. These Nightsisters cordially greet Morgan and reveal that they had previously exchanged information with her and Thrawn.

The Nightsisters soon notice Sabine’s presence and, to her surprise, address her as a Jedi. They unveil three enigmatic orbs that begin to orbit Sabine, drawing her inexorably into the structure, effectively imprisoning her once again.

Meanwhile, Shin detects Baylan’s uneasiness and initiates a conversation with him. Baylan remarks that they are living out a legend, recounting how the Jedi Order fell and sharing the profound impact it had on him as an individual. He acknowledges that power dynamics shift like tides, with groups and forces rising and falling. Shin wonders if their moment for power has arrived, but Baylan, displaying a more profound understanding, perceives it as a fleeting phenomenon. He envisions himself as the agent of change, determined to break the relentless cycle.

In her newfound captivity, Sabine begins devising an escape plan. She concentrates her focus, attempting to harness the Force. For a fleeting moment, it appears to work…

…until she realizes that the rumbling around her signifies the arrival of the Chimaera, Grand Admiral Thrawn’s imposing vessel, as it approaches their location.

Rows of Night Troopers, led by a figure donning a distinctive gold mask known as Enoch, line up in readiness. Amidst this imposing display, Thrawn himself makes his entry into the live action, graciously acknowledging the Nightsister witches and Morgan. Enoch prepares to facilitate the transfer of cargo from one ship to another, a task estimated to take three days.

The Nightsisters introduce Sabine, providing Baylan with the opportune moment to introduce himself to the enigmatic Grand Admiral. Thrawn, well aware of Baylan’s identity, shows even greater interest in Sabine’s presence, recognizing her as a valuable prisoner.

Sabine stands before Thrawn, and in her characteristically direct manner, she engages in a conversation with the enigmatic Grand Admiral. Despite his willingness to assist Baylan in honoring his pact with the Mandalorian, Thrawn’s revelations are unsettling. It turns out that Ezra is no longer with them, and his current whereabouts remain shrouded in uncertainty. Thrawn consents to sharing the last known information about Ezra’s location but cautions Sabine that once their ship departs, she will be marooned on this remote planet, with the possibility that Ezra may have met an unfortunate fate.

Given her Mando heritage, Sabine retrieves her Mandalorian armor and is entrusted with a peculiar wolf-like creature known as a Howler. Enoch, the figure issuing the warning, forebodes the presence of nomadic inhabitants on this planet, cautioning Sabine that they pose a grave threat. Sabine’s weapons, including her lightsaber, are returned to her, and she embarks on her mission.

As Sabine ventures into the untamed wilderness, she soon encounters a band of nomadic bandits who ambush her. Little do they realize that they have taken on a formidable adversary, as Sabine showcases her exceptional Mandalorian and Jedi combat skills, effectively warding them off. Continuing on foot, Sabine finds herself in pursuit by Baylan and Shin, minus her frightened Howler mount, which fled during the skirmish.

Thrawn, overseeing the unfolding events, issues orders to Enoch, instructing him to deploy two attack squads to assist Baylan. Their primary objective: escape. Thrawn is resolute in his approach, prepared to leave Ezra, Sabine, Baylan, and Shin behind in the process if it serves his ultimate goals.

Sabine perseveres in her solitary journey through the wilderness, occasionally beset by the persistent tracking of Baylan and Shin. Despite the challenges she faces, Sabine remains resolute in her mission.

Meanwhile, something inexplicable calls out to Baylan amidst the enigmatic circumstances they find themselves in. Spotting a group of bandits, Baylan and Shin make a consequential decision to align themselves with this band of outlaws.

Back in the heart of the action with Sabine, the resilient warrior stumbles upon her frightened Howler mount, initially irked by its absence during her earlier altercation. However, the loyal wolf-like creature soon warms up to her, establishing a newfound bond of trust. Sabine entrusts the Howler with the responsibility of guiding her forward, allowing it to take the lead.

Guided by the Howler, Sabine’s path converges with a peculiar crab-like creature known as a Noti, dressed in a curious suit. The Noti speaks an alien language, yet it inexplicably recognizes the Rebellion symbol adorning Sabine’s Mandalorian armor. Astonishingly, the Noti also bears the same symbol, a development that should be impossible unless Ezra had somehow bestowed it upon this enigmatic creature.

To Sabine’s surprise, more Noti creatures appear, congregating to engage in a profound exchange. These creatures are well aware of Ezra’s existence and decide to assist Sabine by leading her and her loyal Howler mount onward.

As Sabine embarks on this unexpected journey, her path intertwined with that of Baylan and Shin, the stakes grow increasingly higher. Grand Admiral Thrawn’s intricate plans and his ominous presence cast a shadow over their every move.

While Sabine’s quest unfolds, Thrawn’s preparations continue, as he seeks to anticipate the arrival of another formidable figure: Ahsoka Tano. The Great Nightsister Mothers warn of Ahsoka’s impending approach, and Thrawn is determined to gather all the information he can about the former Jedi.

Additionally, Thrawn makes it clear that should a Purrgil approach the planet, he intends to utilize Morgan’s Eye of Sion to eliminate this potential threat.

The stage is set for a riveting continuation of this captivating storyline, with the promise of reunions, confrontations, and unexpected twists looming on the horizon. Join us in part two of our Ahsoka Episode 6 recap for the thrilling conclusion of “Far, Far Away.”
