Bethesda, the renowned game developer, has released the first post-launch update for its colossal sci-fi RPG, Starfield. This highly anticipated game made its debut earlier this month, garnering mostly positive reviews from critics and leaving a lasting impact on the gaming community. Starfield’s launch has been nothing short of a sensation, breaking records for Bethesda and significantly contributing to increased Xbox console sales. While the initial reception has been commendable, there’s always room for enhancement.

Starfield, like many ambitious titles, has encountered its fair share of glitches since its launch. It’s worth noting that, in comparison to previous Bethesda games, Starfield boasts fewer bugs. However, the development team has been diligent in addressing player feedback and concerns. The latest Starfield update, labeled 1.7.29, is now available for download on PC and Xbox Series X|S, aiming to provide solutions to some of these issues.

One of the notable improvements in the 1.7.29 update focuses on enhancing the stability when installing the Xbox Series X|S versions of the game. Furthermore, it includes general stability and performance enhancements across the board, with the primary goal of reducing crashes and optimizing the game’s framerate. Additionally, players will be delighted to know that bugs affecting three of Starfield’s quests have been successfully addressed. The quests “All That Money Can Buy,” “Into the Unknown,” and “Shadows in Neon” should now offer smoother and more enjoyable experiences for Starfield enthusiasts.

Bethesda is committed to the ongoing improvement of Starfield and has provided gamers with a glimpse of what’s on the horizon in conjunction with the 1.7.29 update. Future updates are set to introduce a range of exciting features, including brightness and contrast controls, an HDR calibration menu, an FOV slider, Nvidia DLSS support for the PC version, 32:9 ultrawide monitor support for the PC version, and a convenient button for instant food consumption, eliminating the need to store it in one’s inventory.

For those eagerly anticipating fresh Starfield content, there’s much to anticipate. Bethesda has officially confirmed the development of at least two Starfield expansions, with the inaugural one titled “Shattered Space.” It’s important to note that the premium DLC for Starfield will not be available for free to Xbox Game Pass subscribers. However, players who opted for the Premium Edition Upgrade to gain early access will have access to these expansions.
