Former NHL player Nic Kerdiles, who was once engaged to “Chrisley Knows Best” star Savannah Chrisley, met an untimely demise in the early hours of Saturday in a devastating motorcycle accident. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department reported that the 29-year-old motorcycle rider, Nic Kerdiles, lost his life in a collision with an SUV.

According to authorities, the preliminary investigation suggests that Kerdiles was riding his Indian Motorcycle westward on Wheless Street when he failed to obey a stop sign, resulting in a collision with the driver’s side of a BMW. Despite being rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Kerdiles was tragically pronounced dead on Saturday.

The driver of the BMW responsibly stopped at the scene, and neither motorist showed any signs of impairment. Consequently, no charges are expected to be filed, as indicated by the police department.

In a poignant twist of fate, just hours before the tragic crash, Nic Kerdiles shared an Instagram story depicting an individual in a helmet, posing on an Indian motorcycle, accompanied by the caption, “Night rider.”

Kerdiles, known for his career in the National Hockey League (NHL), was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in 2012. His impact on the team was profound, as they paid tribute to him with a heartfelt message on Saturday: “We’re heartbroken to hear the news about Nic Kerdiles, who died in a motorcycle accident this morning. An Irvine native, Nic became the first player from Orange County to play for the Ducks, in 2017. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family and loved ones.”

Following his hockey journey, Nic Kerdiles transitioned his focus to the world of real estate, showcasing his versatility and determination.

Kerdiles’ romantic proposal to Savannah Chrisley was a highlight on the USA Network reality television show four years ago. Although their engagement was highly publicized, the couple did not proceed to marriage, and they announced their separation in September 2020. In a heartfelt Instagram stories post on Saturday, Chrisley, 25, shared her grief, saying, “Heaven gained the most beautiful angel today. I miss you and I love you.”

The tragic loss of Nic Kerdiles serves as a poignant reminder of life’s unpredictability and the importance of cherishing every moment. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family, friends, and all who knew and admired him.
