Real Madrid’s star midfielder, Jude Bellingham, had a noteworthy night on Tuesday in their Champions League match against Braga, and there’s a sigh of relief in the Madrid camp regarding his condition. Manager Carlo Ancelotti provided some insight after Bellingham was substituted in the 89th minute of the game.

Bellingham was instrumental in Real Madrid’s 2-1 victory, helping maintain their perfect record with nine points atop Group C in the Champions League. With the highly anticipated El Clásico against Barcelona in LaLiga looming, Bellingham’s performance and fitness have been a key topic of discussion.

According to Ancelotti, Bellingham is “OK.” The decision to substitute him late in the game was attributed to his adductors feeling a bit charged due to the pitch conditions, which were a tad soft. However, Ancelotti reassured fans, stating, “He will recover. He is OK. He is a bit tired, like everybody else. But that’s normal.”

In the game against Braga, it was Rodrygo who opened the scoring for Madrid in the 16th minute, marking his first goal since August. Vinícius Júnior’s run down the left flank set up the goal. Bellingham then extended the lead in the 61st minute with a precise low shot into the far corner.

Speaking about the away match, Vinícius emphasized the team’s strong performance and their ability to capitalize on chances. He added, “We have to keep this run going after having won the first three matches.”

Jude Bellingham’s consistency in front of the goal is impressive, as he has not gone consecutive games without scoring for Real Madrid. The English midfielder has found the net in each of the first three Champions League matchdays this season, mirroring his achievement with Borussia Dortmund in the 2022-23 season.

Bellingham’s influence on the midfield was evident as he played a crucial role in helping Real Madrid assert control in the early stages of the game. Braga, a team that had won five consecutive matches in all competitions, struggled to register any attempts on target in the first half.

With Real Madrid currently leading the LaLiga table, they are now gearing up for their first face-off against Barcelona this season. Ancelotti expressed his clear intentions for the upcoming El Clásico, stating, “I have a clear idea. And that is to try to win. To do all we can to try to win.” He also mentioned that the team has time to prepare, and several key players who were a bit sore are now returning from injuries, indicating a spirited approach to the significant match ahead.
